Summary
Processes and analyzes all commodity specific customer daily firm and forecasted release orders. Makes daily and weekly recommendations to the Material’s Manager concerning production commodity schedules. Maintains raw material minimum and maximum inventory levels, in order to meet all customer production and service release requirements, while minimizing TSM’s overall inventory expense. Maintains a highly effective and organized workplace environment and is able to conduct customer and supplier meetings with internal staff and external suppliers and customers. Effectively works with the specified TSM Third Party logistics team to establish all daily supplier and subcontractor freight moves. The ability to use the PLEX (ERP) System for purposes of: receipt(s), inventory management, daily release staging, customers ASN(s), and all report applications. Finally, is responsible for maintaining customer website applications concerning returnable and expendable dunnage, shortage tickets and any expedited freight and customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.)
Obtains and reviews customer release orders via EDI or other customer-prescribed means and confirms requirements where necessary; communicates internally any potential obstacles or difficulties in meeting customer release requirements.
Maintains proper communications with the customers based on their release requirements.
Maintains FIFO inventory methodology for commodity base and works with warehouse manager to achieve.
Creates customer shippers using the PLEX (ERP) system in order to communicate daily release requirements to the Warehouse Manager, Production Supervisors and Material Handlers concerning all staging, shipping requirements and deadlines.
Ensures communication of shipping information to the customer, including electronic Advanced Shipping Notices.
Analyzes status of production and inventory versus customer orders and reports to management.
Reviews weekly freight and daily production inventory
Reviews accuracy of inventory via cycle counts or analysis of data, communicates problems, makes corrections as directed, and facilitates improvements toward the goal of 100% inventory integrity.
Ensures proper tracking of TSM-owned and customer-owned returnable containers and dunnage.
Identifies and pursues opportunities for cost reductions per the REACH system.
Creates and issues weekly supplier releases and follows up on all past due.
Compiles and maintains computerized record keeping such as premium freight performance.
Reviews weekly customer order requirements and confirms requirements
when necessary; summarizes for detail in the Daily MFG report.
Maintains proper communications with the customers based on their requirements.
Contacts carrier representative or customer to make arrangements for
Transportation routes. This includes Suppliers, the Ferber warehouse and secondary operations.
Expedites raw materials and production parts to meet customer schedules
and increases, using the customer’s expedited applications.
Schedules change-overs for machine centers for their commodity base.
Compiles and maintains computerized recordkeeping such as shipping
performance, premium freight performance, and balanced cums.
Receives and checks customer complaints as related to production control
activities.
Reviews freight invoices, monitors and maintains EDI network for customer communications.
Daily Monitors and Checks Customer database.
Issues vendor SCARS as appropriate.
Collaborates with Quality department for all customer and supplier RMA’s.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors 's degree (BA) or equivalent; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence,
production schedules, and customer requirements. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions from managers, customers, vendors, and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply
concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLS
High degree of computer knowledge as related to PLEX (ERP), Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a
variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to
talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or
balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift
and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust
focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to
moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
