ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning process including advising teams and creating related documentation such as FMEA’s, Flowcharts and Control Plans. Able to conduct when required the gage R & R studies to the QMS procedures and MSA industry standards  
  • Maintain contact with customers and suppliers to assist in resolving concerns and advanced quality issues if requested by immediate Supervisor.  Travel to these locations if required.
  • Knowledge of the IMDS system beneficial.
  • Knowledge of PPAP documentation and submitting to customer portals beneficial. 
  • Assist the TSM problem solving process by participating in or leading 8D and MDT teams.
  • Assist in developing procedures, work/inspection instruction and forms or instruction for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Maintains and updates all documents related to inspection and testing at the facility.
  • Assist in the Quality Management System development process.
  • Compiles and documents training materials for quality activites and if required also conducts quality training.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  None, but may assist employees in the Quality department.  Assist with responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Assistance may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four (4) year college or three (3) years experience performing Quality Engineering duties with two (2) years experience in secondary machining operations and demonstrated ability in mathematics, statistical analysis, precision measurement, industrial practices, computer literacy or equivalent combination of experience and education and/or approval of the Quality Manager. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS:  Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, GD & T and trigonometry.  Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:  Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  ASQC Certified. CQE preferred but not required.
