Controls Engineer
Leading Tier 1 automotive supplier is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer. Applicants must have a minimum of five years’ experience in a production environment, preferably working with machining, assembly, and testing processes of castings for the automotive industry.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
- Ability to specify, design, install, start-up, program, and debug various control systems on process automation including assembly machines, conveyors, feeders, leak tester, Fanuc robots, CNC, and special machine tools
- Ability to provide assistance to maintenance department personnel to trouble shoot and repair PLC, CNC, vision, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems
- At least 5 years’ experience in Allen-Bradley PLC, motion, and HMI integration and programming
- At least 5 years’ experience in Fanuc CNC diagnostics and repair
- At least 5 years’ experience designing, integrating, debugging, trouble shooting, and programming Fanuc Robot controlled work cells
- Able to start up and trouble shoot various types of equipment
- Knowledge and experience with various industrial electric codes and safety standards
- Ability to do “hands-on” work to resolve production issues
- Small panel design, layout, BOM and wiring schematic capabilities
- Must be able to create and modify panel layout and electrical drawings in 2D AutoCAD
- Knowledge with industrial vision systems including application, implementation, integration, programming, and understanding of limitations of systems
- Knowledge of laser marking systems, barcode readers, and data collection systems
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and effectively within a team
